Greed and Avarice at deviantART</b> - a journal entry by nsfbr.
This is a chilling portrait of the "standard operating procedure" in corporate America, drawn from research of publicly available records and personal experience. The picture it paints is one of greed, amibition, scheming, deceit, and betrayal, and it drops my opinion of CEOs (in general) a few hundred notches.
Whether or not this applies to the situation we have watched play out before us here at deviantART in the past two weeks remains to be seen. But nsfbr states clearly at the beginning of the entry that though this is only conjecture, he believes it to be what happened. And he certainly makes a compelling case in support of that belief.
Read it for yourself - draw your own conclusions. At the moment it is the best theoretical sequence of events that I have yet to see, but remember that until these things are proven conclusively one way or the other, it is only theory.

Five and a half years ... not bad ...
I'm not quite sure why I'm back again. At least, why I'm "back" enough to write something, when I haven't written anything here in 5 1/2 years. But I've been surfing though the "good old days," and maybe I've gotten nostalgic or something.
Most of my friends are gone. The ones who are still here, I haven't talked to in years, and I'm not all that sure that they'd even remember me if I did. I deleted everything I had posted years and years ago, and I have no idea where to find it all now. I think I've got it on an external drive somewhere, but even if I do, that drive would be formatted for Windows, and I've been a Mac since February 2010.
I
And again, congratulations
For taking what was once an open-minded, progressive community that embraced all people regardless of what they self-identified as and reducing it to "dude or chick - pick one."
I'm not going to say you're transphobic. But I'm sure as hell going to call you assholes.
Congratulations
on putting in all the effort that was obviously required to make this site even slower and less intuitively navigable than it already was.
I didn't know it was possible, but I've got to hand it to you guys... you managed to do it.
Couple of things...
I'm a deviant!
Now, ain't that just the shit? And here I was, thinking I'd been one for 4 1/2 years already.
And:

This is my formal notice, in writing, to whom it may concern, that I have found the terms of the shiny new Submission Agreement - which I have never signed, digitally or otherwise - to be not in my best interests, and I hereby terminate our artistic "partership" effective immediately.
